Primordial Chaos

Chaos: A state of matter and will above all that is fertile with possibilities, the void from which order and greatness were born.

It's a song by Robin Thicke, it came to mind when I was thinking "damn I'm too lazy to think of a fitting song". Go figure.

I have 4-5 half started posts in my drafts, but I've been so freaking busy I haven't finished any of them. And now I want to write about something else. :P I'll finish them...eventually? Maybe? You know, like that book I wrote 250 pages/7 chapters of. That was two years ago when I stopped working on that, heh. Time flies...

I really can't believe I'm halfway through the semester already. Seems like classes just started 2-3 weeks ago.Even though this week was only 3 days, it was full of tests, homework, and projects being turned in!

Also this week, UNM's Pre-med American Medical Student Association's Diversity in Medicine committee teamed up with the Queer Straight Alliance to celebrate National Coming Out Day. So click on the pics for larger versions:

Heehee, I look really mad, but I was staring right into the sun. I like the sassy hand on my hip pose. I don't like how big my blue AMSA shirt is on me, looks like I'm wearing a garbage bag. :( Oh, and it was fucking hot sitting out under the sun in a dark shirt too! Should of gone with the white AMSA shirt....oh well. I had a great time! Met lots of cool people gay, bi, and straight. What's just over my right shoulder is the "closet", basically people walked through then said into a mic what they were coming out as. Gay, bi, straight, straight but a gay ally, whatever someone's major was, what religion, proud to be a UNM student (didn't catch me saying that one), racial background, etc. I came out as bisexual, biracial, Buddhist, a proud member of AMSA and proud ally of QSA, and autistic. Was really weird saying all of that out loud to people, but also fun. That mic was so loud, and we were right by the Student Union Building, and it was lunchtime so there were quite a few people about. It was...freeing. I'm usually pretty quiet about such things. Anyways, was lots of fun, even baking in the hot sun!

I'm planning another Diversity in Medicine AMSA event in April (might wind up being more than one...) April is Autism Awareness Month, and April 2nd is World Autism Day. So, I'm trying to put together a big event for that, it's pretty important to me. Definitely going to have some of the awareness ribbons (autism's ribbon is pretty kick ass, check it out the end of this post), info about autism, what it is and what it isn't, and I want to have a display that says "Think you know the face of autism?" and have pics of autistic people from different races/ethnic groups, religious backgrounds, different places around the world, etc. Slap my cute little face on there too.

I was pondering making one big post out of my partial posts, but I think I'll just make a few short (for me) ones and then schedule them to post sometime in the future, like for the next few days so I don't feel bad for not writing a post every day.

Off to complete the other posts!

If you want to put one of those ribbon magnets on your car, here's the one to get, for lots of reasons (I like the pattern, really. I want this tattooed around my wrist, minus the words):

About This Blog:

I clear my mind here, basically. It's my mental toilet.

My definition of chaos up above describes me rather well. Fertile with possibilities and a future source of order and greatness...I'll get there eventually. This is me documenting parts of my journey.

And it's about to get interesting....
